SHAW ROAD · HEATON MOOR
We shortened the name. Nothing else changed.

We opened as Stomping Ground, a family-run coffee shop in the heart of Heaton Moor, on the idea that good coffee and good food bring people together and that a neighbourhood needs somewhere to meet.
Before Shaw Road, this was a coffee round out of a peach-coloured VW camper.
We're Stomp now. Same room, same family, same window, same communal table with somebody's laptop on it.
What's new is the microphone.

ON THE WALL
We didn't plan the wall
It just sort of happened — Guinness ads, a Marmite ad, a print that says This Must Be The Place, whatever seemed right at the time. Nobody's explained it to a designer. That's on purpose.

The music bit
The room turned out to be the right size for it: small enough that a nervous first-timer isn't shouting into a void, big enough that it feels like a gig.
When the nights started, and why: to be confirmed with Stomp.
